Anastasia Scala - Fine Artist and Illustrator
"Art should be interesting."
Controversial statements from Anastasia Scala.
Anastasia Scala is a studio fine artist and world traveller local to Perth, Western Australia. She focuses her studio work on painting, with a strong emphasis on the figure and an expressionistic application of colour and texture. Much of her work comes with the goal of evoking empathy in the viewer and a sense of stories being passed on through generations. History and mythology are often incorporated into her paintings. Just recently she completed a Master of Arts degree at Curtin University, where she researched the role of mythology in visual art and produced a body of work exploring it. Anastasia also studied art and design at Pratt Institute in New York, receiving a Bachelor of Communications Design and benefiting from exposure to the arts community in the city. She has also resided and worked in Hong Kong and London.
